In the year 1895

	February 6th	Baseball player, Babe Ruth, was born in Baltimore. He is widely considered as the greatest baseball player in history.
	February 14th	Oscar Wilde's play, The Importance of Being Earnest, was performed for the first time at the St James's Theatre in London. It was the last play he wrote.
	May 6th	Italian actor, Rudolph Valentino, was born in Apulia, Italy. He was probably the first male sex symbol actor. He died at the age of 31, after he had undergone surgery for ulcer.
	May 7th	Russian scientist, Alexander Stepanovich Popov, demonstrates his invention - the first ever radio receiver.
	July 10th	German composer, Carl Orff, was born in Munich. He was one of the major composers of the 20th century and is most famous for creating the extremely popular cantata, Carmina Burana.
	October 8th	President of Argentina, Juan Peron, was born in Buenos Aires. He was elected three times as President of Argentina and along with his wife Eva (Known also as Evita) was one of the most beloved figures of Argenitian political life thorughout the 20th century.
	October 8th	King of Albania, Zog I, was born in Castle Burgajet, Albania.
	October 21st	The Republic of Formosa was invaded by Japanese forces. The Republic of Formosa existed on what is today the island nation of Taiwan.
	November 8th	During his experimentation with electricity, German physicist Wilhelm Rontgen, discovered x-rays. He was the first person to ever receive the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1901.
