In the year 1860

	January 29th	Russian writer, Anton Chekhov, was born in Taganrog, Russia. He was one of the most influential literary figures of the 19th century.
	November 23th	American outlaw, Billy the Kid, was born in New York. His real name was Henry McCarty and although he died at the age of 21 he is one of the most recognized names of the American west.
	December 20th	South Carolina was the first state to secede from the United States towards forming the Confederate States of America.
