This year in history
In the year 1828

	April 16th	Spanish painter, Francisco de Goya, died at the age 82 in Bordeaux, France. He is considered as one of the greatest painters of all time and one that bridged the gap between the old masters and the moderns. It is said that his work provided the model that influenced the work of many contemporary painters, such as Picasso.
	August 28th	Russian writer, Leo Tolstoy, was born in Yasnaya Polyana. He is widely considered as one of the greatest novelists of all time. He wrote such classics as War and Peace and Anna Karenina.
