In the year 1804

	February 12th	German philosopher, Immanuel Kant, died at the age of 77. He is widely acknowledged as one of the great philosophers of the modern world and was the last great philosopher of the enlightment period.
	May 18th	Napoleon Bonaparte was proclaimed Emperor of France by the French Senate.
	July 4th	American writer , Nathaniel Hawthorne, was born in Salem, Massachusetts. He is seen as one of the most influential figures of American literature.
