In the year 1778

	May 30th	French philosopher, Voltaire, died at the age of 84. Voltaire was his pen name, his real name being Francois-Marie Arouet. He was considered as one of the greatest thinkers of his time, however he remains a historically controversial persona, especially in regards to whether or not he was a true contributor to the progress of humankind.
	July 3rd	During the American war of independence British forces massacred over 350 men, women & children in Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania.
