In the year 1770

	August 22nd	British explorer, James Cook, became the first European to reach the coast of Australia.
	August 27th	German philosopher, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, was born in Stuttgart. He is considered as one of the most important philosophers of modern history.
	December 16th	German composer, Ludwig van Beethoven, was born in Bonn. He is widely considered as one of history's greatest composers. By the age of 28 he had began loosing his hearing.
