In the year 1712

	July 20th	The Riot Act was enacted in Great Britain. Under the conditions of the act any gathering of more than 12 people could be declared illegal by local authorities. The act was repealed in 1973.
	September 12th	Dutch painter, Jan van der Heyden, was born in Gorinchem, Neth.
