In the year 1609

	September 12th	English explorer, Henry Hudson, discovered the river that now bares his name, the Hudson River which runs through the US state of New York
	October 12th	The children's nursery rhyme, "Three Blind Mice", was published in London by songwriter Thomas Ravenscroft.
