In the year 1757

	June 22nd	British explorer, George Vancouver, was born in King's Lynn, England. He was an officer of the royal English navy, best known for his explorations of North America.
	September 6th	French soldier and statesman, Marquis de Lafayette, was born in the Auvergne region of France. La Fayette is considered a national hero of both France and the United States for his participation in the French and American revolutions.
