This year in history
In the year 1604

	October 9th	The most recent supernova was observed in the Milky Way galaxy.
	October 17th	German astronomer Johannes Kepler observed that a bright star had suddenly appeared in the night sky. It turned out to be the last supernova to have been observed in our galaxy.
	November 1st	William Shakespeare's tragedy, Othello, was performed for the first time at Whitehall Palace in London.
