In the year 1453

	April 2nd	The siege of Constantinople by the armies of Mehmed the 2nd began. The city fell almost 2 months later.
	May 29th	Fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Empire under the command of Sultan Mehmed II.
	May 29th	Constantine XI Paleologus died during the battle in which the city of Constantinople fell to the Ottoman Empire. He was the last emperor of the Byzantine Empire.
